Summer wedding Northside Farm bride and bridesmaids with sunflower bouquets
On the Farm

There’s a definite chill in the air as I type this, so it’s safe to say autumn is on its way. As usual, we had a busy summer season here at Northside Farm with lots of lovely couples tying the knot in our beautiful new Gin Gang. Here are some other highlights from the last few months…

Colourful Summer Weddings

It’s been such a joy to witness so many beautiful summer weddings. The barn has been overflowing with brightly coloured blooms! We’ve loved seeing people make use of our new dressing room and fairy tale cottage. It really is wonderful to know all our hard work has been worth it.

Speaking of hard work, Ralph has done a lot of grass cutting. It’s almost a full-time job over the summer! Northern Star Tepees have also been busy providing extra accommodation for couples, so even more guests can stay on site for the entire wedding weekend. We know having the freedom to spend so much quality time with friends and family is one of the things couples love most about getting married at Northside.

North East Rural Awards

We were recently nominated for a North East Rural Award. We had a fabulous time attending the ceremony and were thrilled to win Highly Commended in the Rural Diversification category. We’re incredibly proud of our amazing team.

Seasons Change

The summer holidays have been busy. In between weddings, we’ve had lots of people staying in our wigwams and cottages. We’ll miss the lighter evenings that allowed children to play outside from dawn till dusk.

As we approach the end of the summer, harvest is in full swing. The fruit in the orchard has started to ripen and Ralph has been gathering apples. It’s been a good year for the trees, and we look forward to the rest of the fruit ripening as we head into autumn.

Wedding Wednesdays

We know it’s helpful to visit the venue several times between booking your wedding and the day itself, so you’re now able to drop-in and see us. On the second Wednesday of every month, Sam and Olivia will be around on site from 10am-7:30pm. Come along, ask questions and feel free to bring suppliers, friends and family too. We can’t wait to help you with the wedding planning process!

We’re now preparing for autumn (my favourite season) and we’ll be announcing the date of our next open day soon, so keep an eye out!

With love from,

Olivia, Ralph, and the Northside Farm family x
